UK faces serious cyber attack

13/10/2010 UK faces real and credible cyber attack.

Intelligence agency GCHQ, director Iain Lobban says the UK faces a real and credible cyber attack of critical national infrastructure. The cyber threat is targeting critical national infrastructure which are deemed necessary for delivering daily services upon which the UK depends including health, transport, food and water.

Government computer systems are being attacked on a daily basis and attacks have already caused significant disruption. The government is being advised to keep computer systems up to date and install a range of antivirus, firewall's and antispam software.
